Transilwrap Receives Gold Ink Award

Transilwrap Company, Inc. was a recipient of a Pewter Award from the Gold Ink Awards, which is sponsored by Printing Impressions and Publishing Executive. Transilwrap took home the prize in the "Magazine Covers" category for the design of the Feb. 2010 Graphic Arts Monthly magazine cover, which featured the patented dimensional print technology Azuna™ 3D. The substrate, made from recyclable clear polypropylene, was printed at the Heidelberg Company's 40,000-square-foot Print Media Demonstration Center in Kennesaw, Ga.

Now in its 23rd year, the Gold Ink Awards competition has earned a reputation for attracting the highest quality of work from printing professionals throughout North America, and is recognized industry-wide as one of the most prestigious print competitions.

This year's awards attracted more than 1,000 entries in nearly 50 different categories and were overseen by a panel of distinguished graphic arts professionals. Winning pieces surpassed the competition based on print quality, technical difficulty and overall visual effect.

Transilwrap will be honored for its accomplishment at a banquet to be held in conjunction with GRAPH EXPO 2010 in Chicago.

The groundbreaking Azuna™ 3D material produces amazing dimension with 3-D effects that can be viewed from all angles. This 3-D material creates a dramatic effect for endless print applications, such as: backlit displays and signage, loyalty cards, point of purchase and shelf talkers. Using opaque whites and metallic inks, whether solid or as a vignette, creates additional depth to further enhance the image. Versatile enough for most printing processes, including UV litho and digital, screen and conventional offset, the substrate can also be folded, die cut, glued, bound and foil stamped.
